The genital opening and its shields are post-coxal in most Acariformes (except many Astigmatina). In Parasitiformes, however, with very rare exceptions, the genital shield intrudes into the intercoxal region, occasionally as anterior as coxae I. In Sejina, the genital shieldgenital shield:
