One of the most polyphagous aphid species in the Indo-Asian region.

Distribution

This aphid is found in the Indo-Asian region of the world.

Host associations

It has one of the broadest host preferences of any aphid within its geographical range, having been recorded from species of nearly 45 plant families.

Economic importance

It is particularly important on Citrus, cucurbits, Brassica, Malus, and Solanum but also attacks a broad range of other hosts such as red elderberry, ginger, Vicia, Vibrunum, and a variety of ornamental shrubs and trees. It has not been implicated in the transmission of any plant virus.
