is usually consistent within a genus in the Endeostigmata. For example, in the Nanorchestidae, species of Nanorchestes (Fig. 1) and Neonanorchestes are tiny, globular animals, but species of Speleorchestes (Fig. 2) are more elongate and narrow. At the other extreme, members of the Nematalycidae have elongate, worm-likeworm-like:
elongate, with reduced legs as in some Nematalycidae (Endeostigmata).
hysterosomas, sometimes extending to astounding lengths (e.g., Gordialycus) (Fig. 3). Species of Oehserchestes and Grandjeanicus are globular; Terpnacaridae (Fig. 4) and Alycidae tend to be ovoid to narrow (Fig. 5) in outline; Alicorhagiidae, Micropsammidae, and Proteonematalycidae narrow. Sphaerolichus (Fig. 6) and Hybalicus (Fig. 7) have globular bodies.
