Schima wallichii (DC.) Korth., Verh. Nat. gesch. Ned. Brzitt., Bot. 143 (1842).

Description

Fruits of Schima wallichii are sold in the potpourri trade as “wallachi pods.” Capsules are woody, subglobose, and dehiscing longitudinally to reveal the five locules, 1.5-2.0 cm in diameter.

Nativity and distribution

Schima wallichii is native to Bhutan, China, India, and Nepal.
