It should be noted that this feature is only scored for the non-grass flowers and inflorescences. In order to help the user narrow down their choices most efficiently, the grass and sedge inflorescences are scored separately from the the non-grasses. Flowers

Solitary flowers - Flowers can occur singly or in groups or clusters. Here a few examples of solitary flowers:

 

Flower heads - Botanically, groups of flowers (inflorescences) may be referred to by a number of terms, but in order to simplify things to make this key more accessible, we have lumped all types of inflorescences together and called them "heads". This category therefore includes a wide variety of inflorescence types. Remember, grass and sedge inflorescences are considered their own category for the purposes of this key, and are therefore not included here. Below are a few examples of flower heads:
