The 'paranal' setae belong to segment H. Spider mites have up to 3 pairs of h-setae; however, only the posteriormost pair (h3) or pairs (h2-3) may be inserted in a ventralventral:
relating to the lower or under side; opposed to dorsal.
para-anal position. When present, seta h1 is dorsaldorsal:
relating to the upper or back side; opposed to ventral.
and h2 may also be dorsaldorsal:
relating to the upper or back side; opposed to ventral.
when h1 is absent:

In Amphitetranychus, Tetranychus, and Oligonychus only 1 pair of paranal setaeparanal setae:
