Parmotrema arnoldii (Du Rietz) Hale, Phytologia 28: 335 (1974).

Description

The powdered ruffled lichen is rarely encountered in potpourri. This lichen grows on tree bark and has a pale gray thallus, lobes 6-15 mm wide, somewhat divided, with a lower surface that is black to brown with a broad naked zone.

Nativity and distribution

Parmotrema arnoldii is native to the west coast of North America and in the Applachian-Great Lakes region and in Eurasia to Australia.
