Melastoma malabathricum L., Sp. Pl. 1: 390 (1753).
The fruits of the Indian-rhododendron or Malabar melastome are rarely encountered in potpourri. Capsules are urn-shaped, brown (in the native state), 9-11 mm long x 6-8 mm wide.
