Pieces of the inflorescences, 2-15 cm long, of sea statice occasionally show up in potpourri. The scapes are much-branched with 1-2-flowered spikelets forming short-sided spikes. The calyx is white, drying to beige; the corolla is shriveled with traces of blue or rose-color.
Limonium gerberi is native to Eurasia.
