Lagerstroemia parviflora Roxb., Pl. Coromandel 1: 47-48, t. 66 (1795).
Fruits of this crape myrtle relative are sold in the potpourri trade as “bakuli pods.” Capsules are ovoid-oblong, woody, dark brown (in the native state), loculicidally 3-4-valved, 1.5-3 cm long x 2-2.5 cm wide.
Lagerstroemia parviflora is native to Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Myanmar.
