Eucalyptus erythrocorys F. Muell., Fragm. 2: 33 (1860).
The fruits and opercula (operculums, flower bud caps) of the illyarrie are sometimes encountered in potpourri imported from Australia. The capsules are somewhat cuboid, shortly ribbed, 3-4 cm long x 3-5 cm wide, with four raised sides, green when fresh, drying to pale brown. The opercula are bright red when fresh, drying to a pale coral, 4-lobed, flattened with 4 main and 4 lesser radial ribs.
Eucalyptus erythrocorys is native to Western Australia but cultivated elsewhere.
