Description

Like Cariniana rubra, the fruits of C. macrosperma appear as small, wooden vases or pipe bowls, technically dehiscent pyxidia, about 12-20 cm long x 7 cm wide, about 4 mm thick, crustaceous on the exterior, the operculum 7-9 cm in diameter.

Couratari macrosperma is native to Brazil.
