Callistola (Freycinetivora) can be distinguished by the following combination of characters:
Wedge-shaped; subdepressed; color red with yellow-brown markings, without metallic sheen; total length 6.5 to 12.0 mm.
Head: cephalic plate quadrate, with medial sulcus; frontal horn extremely short, truncate at apex.
Antenna: as long as head and pronotumpronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
combined; with 11-antennomeres; antennomere 1 incrassate, longer than 2 and 3 combined; 4 to 10 subequal in length, each shorter than 3; 11 longer than 10, pointed at apex.
Pronotum: subquadrate; convex; lateral margin sinuate for basal ¾, then converging; anterior angle oblique, without seta; anterior margin curved; posterior angle acute; posterior margin bisinuate; surface punctate.
Scutellum: subtriangular.
Elytron: lateral margin slightly expanding apically, smooth; exterior apical angle rounded; apex subtruncate; humerus angulate, not produced; with 8 rows of punctures basally plus scutellar row, 10 rows apically; interspaces narrow, costae more distinct basally.
Venter: anterior margin of prosternumprosternum:
contains two anterior coxal cavities
not projecting forward, not partly covering mouth.
Leg: long, slender.
