Aslamidium (s. str.) Borowiec 1984: 412

Synonomys

Imatidium Aslam 1965: 689 not Fabricius.

Type Species

Imatidium formosum Spaeth.

Diagnosis

Aslamidium (Neoaslamidium) can be distinguished by the following combination of characters:

  • the lateral margins of the pronotumpronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
and the elytra without long, stiff spines
  • the head without a frontal horn
  • the pronotumpronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
with a seta in each anterior angle, rectangular
  • the apex of the elytra without a tooth-like projection
  • the elytra without costae, rounded, moderately wider than pronotum
  • head with clypeusclypeus:
usually quadrangular, elongate; joined to the labrum
very small, mouthparts not projecting forward, interantennal carina distinct
  • antennae with 11-antennomeres, filiform, antennomere 1 longer and thicker than 2
  • prosternal process with deep groove along sides
  • body elongate, parallel-sided

Description

Body elongate, parallel-sided.

Head: fronsfrons:
upper anterior portion of head capsule above the clypeus
concave posteriorly; eyeeye:
elongate, slightly prominent, multifaceted; usually slightly kidney-shaped
projecting; interocular space equal to maximum width of an eyeeye:
elongate, slightly prominent, multifaceted; usually slightly kidney-shaped
; antennaantenna:
3 to 11 segments, inserted in antennal pit in front of eyes
inserted equidistant between eyes and interantennal carina; interantennal carina sharp and united to a transverse carina which encloses oral cavity behind and around labrumlabrum:
triangular, joined to the clypeus and the oral orifice
; labrumlabrum:
triangular, joined to the clypeus and the oral orifice
very short and transverse; maxillary palps with palpomere 4 thicker and slightly longer than 3.

Antenna: with 11-antennomeres, narrowed apically; antennomere 1 thicker and longer than 2; 3 at least 2x length of 2; 4 to 10 decreasing in length; 11 laterally compressed and longer than 10.

Pronotum: small notch on external side of setiferous tubercle within apical emargination; deeply impressed on either side at base; sparsely punctate; rectangular.

Scutellum: broadly triangular.

Elytron: slightly to moderately wider than pronotumpronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
; lateral margin impunctate; lateral and apical margins narrow, in widest part narrower than 1/2 width of elytral disc.

Venter: prosternal process with deep groove along margins.
