Nathan P. Lord, Ph.D., was an assistant professor at Georgia College & State University. Nathan is broadly interested in Coleoptera systematics and has published works on several families, including Bothrideridae, Cerambycidae, Endomychidae, Latridiidae, and Zopheridae. Visit Nathan's Coleoptera Systematics website.

Eugenio H. Nearns, Ph.D., was a Coleoptera specialist with APHIS/PPQ's National Identification Services (NIS) (2017-2025). Gino's research is focused on the taxonomy, systematics, and evolution of longhorned beetles. Gino has described >73 new species and published >70 papers, including a revision of the cerambycine tribes Curiini and Plectromerini (Nearns and Branham 2008Nearns and Branham 2008:
Nearns EH, Branham MA. 2008. Revision and phylogeny of the tribes Curiini Le-Conte and Plectromerini Nearns & Branham, new tribe (Coleoptera: Cerambyci-dae: Cerambycinae). Memoirs of the American Entomological Society. 47:1–117.
) and a Lucid key to the 80 genera of lamiine tribe Onciderini (Nearns et al. 2011Nearns et al. 2011:

Kelly B. Miller, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the Department of Biology and curator of Arthropods at the Museum of Southwestern Biology, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM, USA. Kelly has worked extensively at the alpha-taxonomic level revising genera and species groups, and has also conducted higher-taxonomic phylogenetic work using cladistic analyses of morphological and molecular data to improve classifications and examine evolutionary scenarios. Acknowledgments

The authors would like to thank Terrence Walters and Amanda Redford, USDA/APHIS/PPQ/CPHST/ITP and the University of New Mexico, Department of Biology, for funding the development of Ironclad ID.

We thank Richard A.B. Leschen, Paul E. Skelley, and James E. Zablotny for critical suggestions to an earlier version of this tool. Helpful comments and suggestions were also provided by Grey T. Gustafson and Dr. Kelly Miller's Biology 485/585 Entomology class (University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM).
