Diprion nanhuaensis

Identification

No single character state uniquely identifies the female or male of Diprion nanhuaensis.

Ten annuliannulus:
vertical row of teeth which occurs at regular intervals on both sides of female gonapophysis VIII. In Diprion, there are 9–12 annuli.
on gonapophysis VIII distinguish female D. nanhuaensis from D. koreanus, D. liuwanensis, and D. wenshanicus.

The male has 20 antennomeresantennomere:
articulated components of the antenna.
, a condition shared only with some (but not all) specimens of D. nipponicus, from which it is discriminated by an emarginate ventral valvicipital margin. The male is otherwise indistinguishable from D. hutacharernae and D. jingyuanensis, at least with known morphological characters.
