Recorded from Parinari griffithiana (Chrysobalanaceae), Shorea balanocarpoides, S. leprosula, Shorea sp. (Dipterocarpaceae), Intsia palembanica (Fabaceae), Castanopsis sumatrana, Lithocarpus sundaicus (Fagaceae) (Browne 1961bBrowne 1961b:
Browne FG. 1961b. The biology of Malayan Scolytidae and Platypodidae. Malayan Forest Records 22: 1-255.). Browne (1961b) suggests a possible preference for Dipterocarpaceae and Fagaceae hosts.
