Diagnosis

3.0−3.2 mm long (mean = 3.14 mm; n = 5); 2.9−3.1 times as long as wide. This species is distinguished by declivitaldeclivital:

Distribution

Only occurring in South Korea in the study region. Xyleborus monographus is a widely dsitrubuted Palearctic species, found in Africa (Algeria, Morocco), Asia (Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, South Korea, Turkey). Europe (Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine. Host plants

A Fagaceae specialist, this species is most commonly collected on Quercus as well as Fagus and Castanea. Host use is discussed in great detail by Rabaglia et al. (2020).
