Fruit a cypsela, narrowly oblong, often slightly curved, cross-section terete to star-shaped, 0.8–1.5 mm long x 0.2–0.4 mm diameter. Surface glabrous, finely striate, tan to light brown, often with a waxy look, with 5 lighter-colored, low longitudinal ribs. Pappus a whorl of white bristles 3–6 mm long, easily broken off at their bases.

Style base cylindrical, whitish, flanged with a whitish collar ca. 0.3–0.4 mm across.

Fruit attachment scar basal, whitish, cup-like with single inner protrusion, round or sometimes star-shaped due to the fruit ribs.
