Bark Beetle Genera of the United States (BBGUS) was developed and published by the USDA Center for Plant Health Science and Technology (CPHST) as part of a cooperative agreement with Colorado State University (CSU) and the USDA Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station (USDA-FS-RMRS).
The author would like to thank CSU, USDA-APHIS-PPQ-CPHST, USDA-FS-RMRS, and USDA Forest Service, Forest Health Protection for funding the development of BBGUS. We also thank the USDA Forest Service, Western Wildland Threat Assessment Center which provided funding to the USDA-FS-RMRS for acquisition of the photomontage equipment. Atkinson (Pest Management Research, Texas) provided identification of species occurring in Florida and also kindly provided images of Dryocoetoides reticulatus (Atkinson 2009), Theoborus ricini, and Coptoborus pseudotenuis. Dr. Atkinson also provided an extensive review and helpful comments and suggestions.
Dr. Donald E. Bright (CSU) provided many specimens for study and photography and also provided several reviews with helpful comments and suggestions.
Dr. Anthony I. Cognato (MSU) provided specimens of additional difficult-to-find genera, such as Dryoxylon onoharaensis, and provided a review with useful comments and suggestions.

Dr. Boris C. Kondratieff (CSU) made available the genera from the C.P. Gillette Museum of Arthropod Diversity, which represented the largest portion of the photographed material, and also provided numerous and extensive reviews with helpful comments and suggestions. Negrón (USDA-FS-RMRS) provided access to genera from the USDA-FS-RMRS insect collection as well as to the imaging equipment used for most of the images in this tool, and also provided extensive reviews with numerous helpful comments and suggestions.
