Once there is complete separation between segments 6 and 7, separate the genitalia from the abdomen. Carefully pull the corpus bursae out of the abdomen, which is often surrounded by fatty tissue. It is often helpful to pull tissue and debris out of the abdomen at the same time to avoid breaking the ductus bursae.
