Stigma or style-end shape

Usually, the stigmatic region of the style is at its tip, but this is not always the case. This feature concerns the shape of the style-end, regardless if it is the stigmatic region or not. A branched style will have more than one style-end.

truncate, filiform, or not differentiated

The above style-end types may be flat or three-dimensional.

club- or knob-shaped

disc-shaped or plate-like

lobed (including branched)

Do not confuse a branched style-end with a branched style, which is usually branched at its base or sometimes further up. A branched style-end branches at the tip.

fan-shaped or petal-like
