In a flower that is not resolvable into calyx and corolla, count the number of distinct perianth segments or tepals, or if perianth segments or tepals are connate, count the number of lobes. The perianth may be actinomorphic or zygomorphic.
Use this feature only if the perianth is a single whorl OR if the segments are in two similar, alternating whorls, as in the monocots. Some double flower cultivars have more than the normal number, or extra whorl(s), of perianth segments. Skip this feature if your flower is semi-double or double.
