Description

Fruit: A legume; unilocular; (8–)15–35 cm long; 2–2.5 cm wide; 0.2–0.3 cm thick (estimated); 2–9 times longer than wide, or more than 9 times longer than wide; with deciduous androecial sheath; with deciduous corolla; with deciduous calyx; without orifice formed by curving of fruit or fruit segments; straight; not plicate; not twisted; symmetrical; narrowly elliptic, or oblong; not inflated; without beak; short tapered at apex; aligned with longitudinal axis of fruit; tapered at base; aligned with longitudinal axis of fruit; with the apex and base uniform in texture; seed chambers externally visible; seed chambers with the raised seed chambers not torulose; margin not constricted; margin without sulcus; margin plain; wing(s) absent; substipitate, or nonstipitate; with the stipe up to 5 mm long; with all layers dehiscing; splitting along suture(s). Dehiscence of valves along both sutures; passive. Replum invisible. Epicarp monochrome; dark gray; with surface texture uniform; glabrous; eglandular (?); without spines; not smooth; with faintly elevated features; veined; obliquely veined relative to fruit length; not tuberculate; not exfoliating (Does this mean, "exocapium caducum"?); without embedded tissue, much thicker than epicarp, running from base to apex. Cuticle not exfoliating; not inflated; not wrinkled. Testa present; without pieces of adhering epicarp; not adhering to endocarp; free from endocarp; not modified by a bloom; colored; monochrome; brown; glabrous. Pleurogram absent. Pseudopleurogram absent. Rim absent. Wing(s) present; continuous around seed (1–10 mm wide). Raphe not visible. Hilum present; without faboid split. Radicle bulbose.
