: 5.5-6.5 mm

Adults are gray-brown with two pairs of grayish-white dorsaldorsal:

forewing pattern element - an ovoid region anterior to the tornus; adult head - a simple insect "eye" located dorsal to the compound eye
is present in the distaldistal:
farthest from body, distant from point of attachment
region of the forewing. Males lack a forewing costal foldforewing costal fold:
a flap or fold at the base of the forewing that contains specialized sex scales
. The hindwing is brown.

Male genitalia are characterized by the absence of an uncusuncus:
a sclerotized process which is fused to the posterodorsal margin of tergum IX
and thin valvaevalva:

with a strongly constricted neck. Female genitalia are characterized by a sclerotizedsclerotized:

a membranous tube connecting the ostium bursae to the corpus bursae
and two small, tack-like signasignum:
a sclerotized projection or patch on the interior of the corpus bursae
in the corpus bursaecorpus bursae:
a dilated membranous sac at the anterior end of the bursa copulatrix

Larval Morphology

The larva of Cydia garacana is undescribed. It is assumed to be similar to that of other Cydia species, including Cydia pomonella.

Similar Species

Biology

Life history information beyond the single host plant listed below is not known for this species.

Larvae feed on the leaves of Populus (cottonwood).
