Lasiochila Weise 1916: 38

Synonomys

Anisoderopsis Maulik 1916: 570.

Type Species

Anisodera excavata Baly.

Diagnosis

Lasiochila can be distinguished by the following combination of characters:

  • body more or less cylindrical
  • lateral margin of pronotumpronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
and elytra without long, stiff spines
  • head without frontal horn between antennae
  • pronotum pronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
with seta in each anterior angle
  • apex of elytra without tooth-like projection
  • antennae not thickened apically, apical 4 antennomeres similar to others
  • mentum an elongate pentagon
  • elytral interspaces distinctly raised apically

Description

Body parallel-sided; subcylindrical; color chestnut-brown or with reddish pronotumpronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
and dark elytra.

Head: large; vertexvertex:
occupies the area behind and between the eyes
with faint medial carina; flattened between antennae; labrumlabrum:
triangular, joined to the clypeus and the oral orifice
short, emarginate, covered in long stiff setae; eyes elongate-oval, coarsely facetted.

Antenna: ½ body length; filiform; antennomere 3 longest; 8 to 11 similar to preceding.

Pronotum: subquadrate; lateral margin slightly sinuate, narrowly margined; anterior margin straight; posterior margin sinuate; surface punctate, punctures less dense along anterior margin; seta present in anterior angle.

Scutellum: cordate.

Elytron: lateral margin straight, smooth; exterior apical angle rounded; apex rounded; sutural angle with tooth; humerus rounded, not produced; with 10 rows of regular punctures plus short scutellar row; even interspaces weakly costate.

Leg: long, slender; femurfemur:
largest part of the leg; more or less cylindrical, attached at base to trochanter and at apex to tibia
unarmed.
