Diagnosis

Goyachalepus can be distinguished by the following combination of characters:

  • Body elongate
  • the lateral margins of the pronotumpronotum:
    occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
    and the elytra without long, stiff spines
  • the head without a frontal horn
  • the pronotumpronotum:
    occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
    with a seta in each anterior angle, finely margined, without lateral teeth
  • the apex of the elytra without a tooth-like projection
  • the elytra with 8 rows of punctures for entire length and 3 regular costae, humerus angulate without spine or tooth
  • the antennae thickened at apex, with 11-antennomeres, antennomere 3 2.5x length of 2 or 4
  • leg with apical tarsomere bearing 2 claws
  • anterior margin of prosternumprosternum:
    contains two anterior coxal cavities
    not expanding toward mouth

Description

Head: elongate; vertexvertex:
occupies the area behind and between the eyes
micropunctate with scattered large punctures; medial sulcus present, becomes keel before base of antennaantenna:
3 to 11 segments, inserted in antennal pit in front of eyes
; two lateral sulci present near top of eyeeye:
elongate, slightly prominent, multifaceted; usually slightly kidney-shaped
; fronsfrons:
upper anterior portion of head capsule above the clypeus
projecting.

Antenna: with 11‑antennomeres, robust, laterally compressed; antennomere 1 globose; 2 transverse; 3 largest, 2.5x length of 2 or 4; 4 to 10 transverse; 11 appendiculate.

Pronotum: wider than long; surface with large, deep punctures; lateral margin sinuate, finely margined; tooth present in anterior angle; basal impression present.

Scutellum: quadrate; alutaceous.

Elytron: elongate; lateral margin serrate; apical margin dentate, laminate; humerus angulate; with 8 rows of punctures plus scutellar row at base; on apical 1/5 puncture rows 5 and 6 expand to two additional rows divided by a small costa; suture carinate; tricostate, none united; costae 1 and 3 straight, 2 sinuate on apical 1/5.

Venter: with 5 visible abdominal sterna.

Leg: apical tarsomere with two claws.
