Synonomys

None.

Type Species

Drescheria reinecki Weise.

Diagnosis

Drescheria can be distinguished by the following combination of characters:

  • lateral margin of pronotumpronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
and elytra without long, stiff spines
  • head with frontal horn which is as long as wide between antennae
  • antennae thickening apically, antennomere 1 without spine-like process
  • pronotum pronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
with lateral margin straight for basal ½, expanding and rounding anteriorly
  • elytra with 8 rows of punctures plus scutellar row, tricostate

Description

Head: wider than long; cephalic plate subquadrate, strongly angulate anteriorly, medial sulcus present, rugose-punctate; frontal horn subquadrate, as long as wide, concave; clypeusclypeus:
usually quadrangular, elongate; joined to the labrum
large, rectangular; eyeeye:
elongate, slightly prominent, multifaceted; usually slightly kidney-shaped
large, convex, rounded.

Antenna: short; as long as head and pronotumpronotum:
occupies all of dorsal part of the prothorax; in anterior angles or posterior angles there may be a small tubercle or pore with a seta
combined; thickening apically; with 11-antennomeres; antennomere 1 thick, subclavate; 2 ½ length of 1, thick; 3 narrower than 2, longer; 4 to 5 subequal in length to 3; 7 to 11 thicker than 1 or 2; 11 pointed at apex.

Pronotum: subquadrate; lateral margin straight for basal ½, expanding and rounding anteriorly; anterior angle with small tooth; anterior margin curved; posterior angle acute; posterior margin bisinuate; convex; surface rugose-punctate, medial line impunctate.

Scutellum: subtriangular.

Elytron: lateral margin straight, smooth; apical margin subtruncate; sutural angle with small tooth; humerus angulate, not produced; with 8 rows of punctures plus scutellar row; finely tricostate.

Leg: short; femurfemur:
