Calamispa fasciata Gressitt.
Calamispa can be distinguished by the following combination of characters:
Body elongate, narrow; subparallel; flat; color orange-red with dark violet metallic markings; total length 5.5 mm.
Head: large; with quadrate cephalic plate, medial sulcus present; frontal horn narrow, subacute apically; fronsfrons:
upper anterior portion of head capsule above the clypeus
long, narrow, pubescent; eyeeye:
elongate, slightly prominent, multifaceted; usually slightly kidney-shaped
large.
Antenna: filiform; reaches to humerus; with 11-antennomeres; antennomere 1 distinctly longer than 2 and 3 combined; 2 shorter than 3; 4 to 10 subequal in length, each longer than 3; 11 longer than 10, pointed at apex.
Pronotum: slightly longer than wide; lateral margin rounded, without distinct anterior or posterior angles, finely margined; anterior margin rounded; posterior margin bisinuate; surface sparsely punctate, with 2 sizes of punctures.
Scutellum: short; rounded at apex.
Elytron: lateral margin straight, smooth; exterior apical angle rounded; apical margin rounded; humerus angulate, not produced; with 8 rows of punctures at base, with additional rows of punctures present near apex, scutellar row absent; no costae.
Venter: sparsely punctate; anterior margin of prosternumprosternum:
contains two anterior coxal cavities
not projecting forward, not partly covering mouth.
