Rudbeckia hirta L., Sp. Pl. 2: 907 (1753).

Description

Flowers of the black-eyed-Susan are occasionally used in higher-end potpourri. Flowers are yellow to orange with a dark brown to black center, 4-5 cm in diameter.

Nativity and distribution

Rudbeckia hirta is native to North America but cultivated elsewhere in temperate climates.
