Pterocarpus marsupium Roxb., Pl. Coromandel 2: 9, t. 116 (1799).

Description

Winged fruits of the Indian kino, known as “pradu” in the potpourri trade, are almost circular, essentially flat with an elevated center, 3-7 cm in diameter, on a 1-2 cm stem.

Nativity and distribution

Pterocarpus marsupium is native to India and Sri Lanka.
