Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco, Conif. Duarum Nominibus 4; Bol. Soc. Brot. sér. 2, 24: 74 (1950).

Description

Cones of the Douglas-fir are distinctive because of the three-lobed bract that is longer than the cone scale. Cones are 4-10 cm long x 3-3.5 cm wide.

Nativity and distribution

Pseudotsuga menziesii is native to central and western North America.
