Name and publication

Protea repens (L.) L., Mant. Pl. 2: 189 (1771).

Description

The flowers of the sugarbush appear in potpourri as either the whole flowers or involucral receptacles as “toppers.” Flowers are oblong, 8-12 cm long x 4-5 cm wide. The involucral receptacles are round and somewhat cone-shaped in the center, 8-10 cm in diameter.

Nativity and distribution

Protea repens is native to South Africa.
