Musa acuminata Colla, Mem. Gen. Musa 66 (1820).

Description

The inflorescence stalk of the banana is sold as “banana stick” in the potpourri trade, 4-15 cm long, knotted on opposite sides. Rolled banana leaves are also used, 7-8 cm long, tied together with fibers.

Nativity and distribution

Musa acuminata is native to Africa and tropical Asia.
