Description

Fruits of the sago palm, known as “rumbia” in the potpourri trade, are hemispherical and coated with smooth scales, 2-3 cm in diameter (in ones used in potpourri).

Nativity and distribution

Metroxylon sagu is native to Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines.
