Lecythis alutacea (A.C. Sm.) S.A. Mori, Brittonia 33: 362 (1981).

Description

The fruit (pyxidium) of L. alutacea is turbinate, 5-6 cm long and 4-5 cm wide, the pericarp about 1 cm thick, irregularly rugose with a slightly raised area about 1 cm from the top.

Nativity and distribution

Lecythis alutacea is native to Guyana.
