Jacaranda macrantha Cham., Linnaea 7: 552 (1832).

Description

Capsules are thick-woody, the margin undulate; interior with long, dark placental line, rest smooth and lightly furrowed except for the margin, which is rippled, exterior with the texture of very worn sandpaper (irregularly verrucose-coriaceous), 9-10 cm long x 8-9 cm wide, with swollen receptacle at the base.

Jacaranda macrantha is native to Bolivia.
