Description

Fruits of the Australian-teak or crow’s-ash are sometimes encountered in imported Australian potpourri. Capsules are brown (in the native state), ovoid, 5-10 cm long, covered with short, stout, blunt spikes, and splitting into usually 5 boat-shaped capsules united at the base, resembling a starfish.

Nativity and distribution

Flindersia australis is native to New South Wales and Queensland, Australia.
