Ananas comosus (L.) Merr., Interp. Herb. Amboin. 133 (1917).

Description

Tiny, freeze-dried pineapples occasionally appear in higher end, tropical-themed potpourris. The multiple fruit is broadly ellipsoid, typically yellow, and seedless, topped with a crown of prickly leaves, typically about 10-15 cm in total length.

Nativity and distribution

Native to Brazil, pineapples are cultivated around the world.
