  • The tribe Cantharocnemini Thomson, 1861 currently contains ~22 species in 3 genera. Photographs of 3 exemplar specimens are currently available for this tribe.
Diagnostic Features of Adults
  • Tibiae fossorial, enlarged at apex and strongly toothed on outer edge; eyes strongly granulate, do not embrace the insertion of antennae below, but very close to the mandible; lateral margin of prothorax toothed; metepisterna with subparallel edges; spurs of hind tibia wide and flattened; tarsi more or less imperfectly spongy beneath (Lameere, 1919).
