Diagnostic Features of Larvae
- Larva. Form and in general as in N. acuminatus; sparsely clothed with yellowish hairs; last joints of labial and maxillary palpi subequal, latter much longer than second; first and second antennal joints subequal, about as long as thick; ocellus large, larger than abdominal spiracles; anterior edge of hypostoma not swollen; labrum transversely oval, sparsely haired; posterior granulation of pro-eusternum continuous. Biology and Economic Importance
- Members of this tribe are known from various host plant families and several genera (e.g., Chlorophorus, Xylotrechus) are considered economically important. Species of this tribe are potentially invasive outside their native range. More information is available at the CAPS website.
