Diagnostic Features of Larvae
- Larva. Genal bristles numerous and long; ocelli not distinct, a dark spot beneath chitin; last joint of maxillary palpi one and one-half times the length of second, shorter than last labial, basal joints transverse; second joint of antennae slightly longer than first, neither longer than thick; pronotum posteriorly bearing a few irregular markings, tending to be rugulose, median suture impressed; ampullae alutaceous, with a deep median furrow; pleural discs distinct on first, second and third segments; legs indistinctly three-jointed. Biology and Economic Importance
- Members of this tribe are known from various host plant families and several species are considered economically important. Species of this tribe are potentially invasive outside their native range.
