Very similar to that of Stromatium barbatum (Fabricius, 1775), from which it differs as follows. Head with temples immediately behind ocellus broadly and strongly sclerotized and ferruginous (but probably pale in young larvae). Abdomen with dorsal ampullae micro-granulate. Thoracic and abdominal setae pale ferruginous. Adapted from Duffy (1957). Biology and Economic Importance Members of this tribe are known from various host plant families and at least one genus (Trichoferus) is considered economically important.
