Diagnostic Features of Larvae
- Larva. Distinguished from Heterachthes quadrimaculatus as follows: Labrum elongately orbicular, widest in front; mandibles more salient, basal piece about one-fourth length of distal, set off as an abrupt shoulder; process of palpifer shorter than last joint of maxillary palpi; striae of pronotum coarser and more deeply impressed, extending slightly forward in middle; ampullae strongly alutaceous, shining.
