Diagnostic Features of Larvae
- Mature larva. Similar to those of the subgenus Macrotoma, from which it may be separated as follows. Length up to 36 mm; maximum breadth (at prothorax) 9.1 mm. Head with postocular carina absent. Abdomen with segment 9 extended, quadrate.
Pupa. Similar to that of Macrotoma serripes, from which it may be distinguished as follows. Length up to 30 mm. Abdomen with anterior projection of gin-traps feebly developed, the. Margin straight. Adapted from Duffy (1957).
