Disseminule a fruit with or without the persistent inner pair of tepals (tepals are very fragile and therefore often missing). Inner tepals hairy without prominent cilia.
Fruit an achene, broadly elliptic to ovate in outline with a pointed apex often tipped with stylar remnant and a rounded base sometimes subtended with a stem remnant, compressed, cross-section lenticular to barely fusiform, 0.9–1.2(1.4) mm long x 0.7–0.9 mm wide x 0.3–0.4 mm thick. Surface rough (honeycombed and sometimes papillate), grayish or light brown to yellowish-tan, dull.
