Disseminule is a fruit with persistent tepals (=perianth) and pedicel.
Perianth of two whorls of three tepals each. Outer tepals (may be missing) ca. 1 mm long. Inner tepals adherant to fruit, greenish turning red, typically appearing winged (wings ovate to oblong or lingulate, margins smooth), ± veiny, 2–3(3.2) mm long x 1–1.6(2) mm wide, bearing 3 oblong tubercles (the largest almost as wide as inner tepal, typically an intense or dark red).
Fruit an achene, broadly ovoid with acuminate apex and non-stipitate base, trigonous with acutely-angled margins, 1.5–2 mm long x 1–1.4 mm wide. Surface reddish-brown to dark brown, very shiny, smooth.
