Fruit a cypsela, narrowly oblong to oblanceolate or obovate, compressed, often slightly curved in lateral view, cross-section ± elliptic, 1.8–2.4 mm long x 0.7–0.9 mm wide x 0.3–0.5 mm thick. Surface glabrous, shiny, longitudinally striate, brownish- or purplish-gray along most of body except for the lighter-colored, somewhat wing-like, longitudinal ridges along the margins. Pappus none.

Style base lobed, whitish, ± flanged by yellowish collar ca. 0.6 mm across.

Fruit attachment scar at base, horizontal or obliquely positioned, cup-like in shape, often with a pair of protrusions within cup, whitish.
