Taxonomic history

Xyleborinus huifenyinae Smith, Beaver & Cognato 2020 (in Smith et al. 2020b): 346.

Diagnosis

1.7 mm long (n = 1); 2.83 times as long as wide. This species is distinguished by the entire length of interstriae 2 unarmed by tubercles; posterolateral margin of declivity costate and denticulcate; declivital face shagreened, dull; declivital interstriae flat, interstriae 2 not impressed; and denticles on interstriae 1, 3 prominent.

This species is very similar to X. perpusillus and can be distinguished by the shagreened declivity, posterolateral margin of the declivity costate and denticulate and larger denticles on interstriae 1 and 3.
