4.8−5.3 mm long (mean = 4.96 mm; n = 5); 2.18−2.41 times as long as wide. his species is clearly distinguished from S. allecta by the pair of large spines on basal third of elytral declivity and larger size.
Indonesia (Sumatra), East & West Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam
The species has been recorded only from trees of the family Dipterocarpaceae (Balanocarpus, Dipterocarpus, Dryobalanops, Hopea, Shorea, Vatica) (Browne 1961a, 1961c).
Browne (1961b) notes that broods tend to be small (from 8–18 individuals), and that the life cycle may be completed in 3–4 weeks.
